photo of original building, circa unknown Christy Creme was built in 1954 by Art and Jeanne Christiansen (hence the name and the spelling) in what was their front yard on North Broadway. They sold the business and retired in 1972. After changing hands several times, the property was bought by Dave and the late Sue Christiansen (son and daughter-in-law of the founders) in 1976.

Photo of the replacement building in 1995 The original 20 square foot building was replaced by the current building in 1995. Christy Creme is considered one of the top 5 independent ice cream operations in the Omaha metro area by the "Omaha World Herald", and voted as having the best hamburgers, tenderloins, french fries, and ice cream in Council Bluffs by "Daily Nonpareil" readers. Christy Creme continues to serve the metro area from early February through early November each year, closing only for Independence Day.
